Gothenburg will be looking to record back to back away wins for the first time since April when they face Champions elect Malmo on Monday evening.

Malmo are on course to win back to back Allsvenskan titles for the first time since 2021.  Henrik Rydström's men were lucky to win the title last season, with only goal difference separating them from second-placed AIK but they are now in a comfortable position. The Blue Ones currently sit eight points clear of second-placed Hammarby and a win on Monday would see them seal the title.

Gothenburg meanwhile narrowly avoided relegation to the second tier last season. The Angels finished just one point clear of the bottom three and there has been little improvement this term. Monday's game is a must-win for Stefan Billborn's side as just three points separates them from the bottom three.

Malmö vs Gothenburg Betting Tips: Under 3.5 goals

While Malmo have the best attack in the Swedish top flight by far, they have struggled offensively in their recent outings, scoring under one goal in all but one of their last six league games and I think their attacking problems will continue on Monday.

The Blue Ones scored under one goal in two of their last three Allsvenskan visits to the Eleda Stadium and bets on ‘’under 3.5 goals’’ were won in all three encounters.

And with survival on the line for Gothenburg, a close game is likely to be the outcome of Monday’s game. The visitors kept a clean sheet in two of their last three encounters and bets on under 3.5 goals were won in each of the last five.

  • Best Tip: Under 3.5 goals
  • Malmö vs Gothenburg prediction: 2-0

Gothenburg team news

As for Gothenburg, Suleiman Abdullahi is nearing a return from his long-term knee injury but Monday’s game will come too soon for the forward.

Pontus Dahlberg and Arbnor Mucolli will also miss the trip to the Eleda Stadium due to cruciate ligament injuries, while Paulos Abraham is a doubt due to a muscle problem.
