- Competition: Toto Cup, Final
- Date: Wednesday, 25th December, 2024
- Kickoff: 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
- Venue: Bloomfield Stadium (Tel-Aviv)
On Wednesday evening, two of the best Israel teams, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa, will face off in the Toto Cup Finals at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv.
Maccabi Tel Aviv are the domestic league reigning champions but entered this season pretty poorly. Still, as the season progresses, they are only doing better and are now on an eight-game unbeaten run. Currently, they sit in second place with 33 points, just one point away from the top spot. They are also doing better in the EL, where they managed to win back-to-back games after four losses in the first games. Now, they are only one point away from reaching the 1/16 Finals. So, they are in a very good position to turn things around this year, and winning the Toto Cup would surely boost the teams' morale.
Maccabi Haifa missed on for the fourth title in a row last year after Maccabi Tel Aviv left them 11 points behind. This season, they failed to reach Europe and are only focused on domestic competition. For now, they are doing OK as they are sitting in third place with 30 points, just four points away from the top spot.
Maccabi Haifa vs Maccabi Tel Aviv pick: Over 2.5 goals
Maccabi Tel Aviv have been fantastic for this bet lately, as they were over 2.5 goals in the last three and eight out of the last nine games! While their offense is always good against domestic teams, their defense has not been good lately. They allowed four goals in the previous two games against Petah Tikva and Hapoel Jerusalem and haven't had a clean sheet in the last seven games. So, we cannot expect them to keep a clean sheet for this one.
Meanwhile, Maccabi Haifa are a team that likes to play an offensive style of football, so it is not a surprise they have the most games with three or more goals in the domestic league. So far, ten of their 15 games finished with three or more goals - 67%.
Considering all the above, we expect a high-scoring game, most likely with both teams scoring.
