Last season, Lyon had two totally opposite halves of the season. From the worst team in the league in the first part to the best one in the second half. If we looked only at the last 15 or 20 rounds, Lyon were the best team in the league, even better than PSG. Now, everyone expected they would continue that trend of good games this season because they were pretty active in the transfer window, spending over 134 million euros. Still, the popular "Les Gones" started the season terribly with two losses against Rennes and Monaco and a 0:5 goal difference! Now, they are under pressure to win their first points against Strasbourg.

Strasbourg are playing their eighth consecutive season in the Ligue 1, where they were mainly in the middle or the lower part of the league's table. Last year, despite winning only 39 points in 34 rounds, they secured survival pretty easily - finishing ten points above the danger zone. The impression is that they heavily improved the squad over the Summer. Although they had a terrible pre-season result-wise, they started the official season great, winning four points in two rounds, and are currently in 6th place.

Lyon started the season absolutely terrible. They lost 3:0 on the road to Rennes and 2:0 against Monaco at home in the previous game. Having watched the games, we can safely say they deserved to concede at least a couple more goals in both matches. Their defense totally collapsed, and keeping a clean sheet seems like science fiction. On the other hand, even though they failed to score in the first two matches, we believe they have too good players upfront to continue their goalless streak.

Meanwhile, both teams scored in both of Strasbourg's games at the start of the season. They scored four goals so far and have been super-dangerous from attacking set pieces. We strongly believe they can score at least once or twice against struggling Lyon away from home. On the other hand, we do not trust Strasbourg's defense. They failed to keep a clean sheet in the first two Ligue 1 games and kept their net intact once in eight friendlies over the Summer.

In the previous h2h game, Lyon won 2:1 at Parc Olympique Lyonnais. Additionally, we saw both teams scoring in nine of the last 11 h2h games - 82%. Considering the previous h2h games and all the above, we believe that both teams to score bet should be the safest option for this Ligue 1 tie.
