Lyon will continue their fight to stay in the French topflight next season on Friday night when they play host to Rennes.
The hosts have gone from being a contender for a European place to a team fighting to stay in Ligue 1 just within one year. Pierre Sage's side are only two points clear of the relegation places, have picked up just 16 points from 18 games and have conceded the second most goals so far in this division.
Rennes are not having a good season either. Julien Stéphan's side have finished fourth in Ligue 1 in each of the last two seasons but that's unlikely to be the case this season. Their recent form hasn’t been too bad though, as they are currently without defeat in their last five matches.
Lyon vs Rennes Betting Tips: Lyon to win or draw
Lyon are not quite where they should be yet, but should not be written off at the Groupama Stadium. The hosts have only lost four times at home this season and won each of their last two home games to nil.
One of the main reasons Rennes are outside the top six is their away form. Julien Stéphan's side have won just once on the road this season, losing three and drawing four. The visitors do not have a good record in recent encounters with Lyon either, having lost both of the last two ties 1:4 on aggregate.
- Best Tip: Home team to win or draw
- Lyon vs Rennes prediction: 0-0

Lyon team news
Johann Lepenant will once again be unavailable to Lyon head coach Pierre Sage due to a knee injury, but the midfielder is the hosts’ only injury concern.
Dejan Lovren has served his one game ban for the red card against Nantes, but the likes of Duje Ćaleta-Car and Jake O'Brien will miss out following their red cards against Le Havre.
