This year was a wild rollercoaster for Lyon. After being the last-placed team after the first 15 rounds, Les Gones started playing as everyone expected and quickly moved to the middle of the table. If we would look at only the 15 games in Ligue 1, Lyon would be the second-placed team, only two points behind PSG! Right now, they are 9th with 41 points, only one away from 7th-placed Rennes. Additionally, Lyon had an awesome run in the Cup, where they will face off against PSG. So, Les Gones have two routes to secure Europe next year, but they have to continue to play like they did in the last four and a half months.
In the last decade, Monaco were mostly been a top-three team in France. However, that wasn't the case last year, as they went on a terrible run and eventually failed to secure Europe. This season, the Red and Whites looked a lot more stable and are deservedly in 2nd place. Still, the title is out of the question because they are 11 points away from PSG with only four rounds to go. Now, they have to finish the season strong and secure that 2nd place and the Champions League appearance next season.
Lyon vs Monaco pick: Over 2.5 goals
Before losing to PSG (4:1), Lyon were on an excellent six-game unbeaten run where they looked really good offensively, scoring 16 goals - 2.7 per game! Lately, mostly due to really good offense, Lyon were over 2.5 goals in the last four games in all competitions.
Monaco are in excellent form as well, having won four in a row against very good competition - Lille, Brest, Rennes and Metz. So, scoring one or two is a completely real scenario. Additionally, Monaco are the best team in the league for an over 2.5 goals bet away from home, as we saw three or more goals in 79% of their games (11 of 14).
Considering both team's good form, Lyon's recent high-scoring games, and Monaco's high-scoring games away from home, we expect at least three goals, most likely with both teams scoring.

A starting left full-back, Nicolas Tagliafico, served his one-game suspension and should be back in the starting lineup. With him back, coach Sege should have the entire squad available for the upcoming match.
After a 4:1 loss vs PSG, coach Pierre Sege spoke to the media. The coach said they lost due to poor defensive play but saw positives on the offensive end. He also said that they lost against one of the best teams in Europe and are turning their focus to the next game, which is very important for their goal of reaching Europe.
