A remarkable contrast in recent form underlines Sunday´s huge EPL contest as league leaders Liverpool take on a Man City side now winless in their last six matches.

Having lost each of their last five matches ahead of Wednesday's UCL match against Feyenoord, Pep Guardiola´s off-form side somehow contrived to concede three late goals as they were held to a stunning 3:3 draw against their Dutch visitors. 

Without the services of influential midfielder Rodri, the Citizens' form has fallen off the cliff, and they now face a Liverpool side looking for yet another Anfield victory. 

Defensive issues have been the biggest source of concern for the EPL champions. Guardiola´s beleaguered side leaked 17 goals in their last six matches. Incredibly, City have conceded more “clear cut chances” in 12 EPL matches than they did in the entirety of two of the past three seasons.

Contrastingly, Liverpool return to action in high spirits after a well-deserved 2:0 win against Real Madrid earlier this week. Second-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo secured a sixth win-in-a-row for Arne Slot´s in-from side.

Relentless at Anfield, the Reds have won 11 of their last 12 home matches since May, and while Man City still represent  a major challenge, it's hard to see the hosts slipping up this weekend.

Given the visitors' continued struggles, I expect Liverpool to put their foot on the gas and secure another home victory with at least a couple of goals likely.
