Lincoln Red Imps continue their Champions League qualification journey on Tuesday evening when they take on Qarabag FK at Victoria Stadium.

Gibraltar Premier Division champions Lincoln Red Imps secured a place in the second of UCL qualification with a dramatic win against Hamrun Spartans last week.

After a shock 1:0 first-leg win in Malta, Javi Muñoz´s side secured their place in the second phase after a dramatic shootout win in Gibraltar. 

After being reduced to ten men just ten minutes into the second leg, the Red Imps, despite conceding a late goal in regulation play, showed tremendous heart to eventually secure qualification via spot kicks after a gruelling 110 minutes playing with one less. 

Qarabag make the trip to Victoria Stadium for what is their first competitive contest of the new season. The Azerbaijani champions picked up a pair of pre-season victories in recent matches against Viktoria Plzen and Slaven Koprivnica.

Despite their inactivity, the visitors are odd-on favourites to claim a first-leg advantage on Tuesday. Qurban Qurbanov´s side have much more experience at this level, while they have managed to win three of their last seven away UCL matches. At least three goals were scored in six of those seven contests, suggesting we can expect goals on Tuesday. 

Contrastingly, the Red Imps have lost four of their last six home UCL games, including last week´s second-leg against Hamrun Spartans. 

While it might not be an easy night's work for Qurabanov´s men, I expect Qarabag to secure a first-leg victory at Victoria Stadium. 

I´m backing Qarabag to win, while we should expect at least three goals scored on Tuesday.
