Both nations come into their second fixture in Group C still in contention to qualify for the next phase. After both teams picked up draws in their opening games in the section, Lesotho slipped to a 2:1 defeat against Namibia while Angola solidified their qualification hopes with a dramatic 3:2 win against the Seychelles.

Ahead of this competition, Lesotho have struggled to find much winning form, with a lack of goals the major issue. Leslie Notši´s side failed to win ten of their last 12 matches over the past year, while they scored just eight goals during that period.
