Two Ligue 1 sides separated by three points after eleven games face off this weekend as Lens play host to Olimpique Marseille.

Lens are not having one of their best campaigns. Les Sang et sit five places below Marseille, who they have finished above in each of the last two seasons and boast just one of their last three matches. That poor run of form has seen Will Still's men drop out of the top six, but the fact that they have lost just one of their six home games in all competitions this season is a huge motivation going into this weekend's clash.

Marseille meanwhile have had plenty of positive results away from home, with the visitors won their last two away games by a combined score of 7-1. That run has put Les Phoceens nine points adrift of leaders PSG, and three points of Monaco who are in second. But after the 3-1 defeat to newcomers Auxerre at home prior to the international, anything other than a win this weekend won't be a positive result for Roberto De Zerbi who is already under pressure.

Lens vs Marseille Betting Tips: Under 3.5 goals

The number of goals in Lens win over Nantes prior to the international break was a great surprise, with Les Sang et scoring three goals whilst also conceding two goals. It was only the second game of Will Still’s side this season that has produced more than two goals, so expect Saturday’s game to be close.

Recent meetings between Lens and Marseille in the French top flight have not also been entertaining. The last meeting which was a year ago ended 2-1 in favor of Marseille and bets on under 2.5 goals won in three of the last five encounters between the two sides.

  • Best Tip: Under 3.5 goals
