Leeds were relegated from the Premier League in the 2022/23 season and tried to return instantly. However, they finished 3rd and then failed to come out of the Playoffs. This year, the Whites are looking really good and are among the primary candidates for promotion. Right now, they are at the top of the league with 38 points from 19 rounds, but only one point away from slipping down to the third place and the Playoffs. Luckily for them, after the Middlesbrough game, they will have a pretty easy schedule.
Middlesbrough are playing their eighth consecutive season in the Championship, and even though they were constantly in the upper half of the league's table, they failed to gain promotion. This year, they are on the right path to secure the playoffs, as they are in 5th place with 31 points in 19 rounds. Unfortunately, the direct promotion is already seven points away, and securing a direct one will definitely be a challenge.
Leeds vs Middlesbrough pick: Leeds to win
Leeds won 11 out of 19 games this year - 58%. But at home, they have been absolutely incredible, winning 80% of their games (8/10). Lately, their defense has been on another level, keeping a clean sheet in six out of the last seven home games!
Middlesbrough are in pretty good form, winning four out of the last six matches. Still, most of those wins were against mediocre teams, and we doubt they can secure a positive result on the road against the league leader.
In the recent five h2h games, Leeds won on four occasions. While we expect a close match, considering the previous h2h games and Leeds's absolutely fantastic home record, we believe that the Whites are closer to winning the upcoming game.

Leeds team news
In the previous game against Derby County, Junior Firpo suffered an injury and had to leave the field in the 21st minute. With him potentially out, we could see Sam Byram start as a replacement.
Additionally, Joe Gelhardt and Ilia Gruev, who missed the previous games, should remain sidelined.

Middlesbrough team news
After a 1:1 draw with Burnley, coach Michael Carrick spoke to the media. He said the boys were disappointed with a draw because they felt they could win all three points. Still, he said it is a good point against a good team and also said it is a good thing they are striving for more.
The team should have no new injuries, but Alex Bangura, Darragh Lenihan, Aidan Morris, Tommy Smith, and Rav van den Berg, who missed the previous games, should remain sidelined.
