Lazio return to Serie A action this weekend, looking to bounce back from the most humiliating home defeat in their history - a crushing 6:0 loss to Inter on Monday. The Olimpico witnessed a remarkable second-half as the visitors ran riot, delivering a masterclass with six different scorers netting in a sensationally one-sided away win. 

Prior to Monday's mauling in Rome, Lazio had enjoyed a fine run of results with three successive victories, including twice against Napoli over the past fortnight. In fact, I Biancocelesti won 10 of their 12 previous matches before their record-breaking defeat earlier this week.

With confidence dented, the Romans now face a tricky trip to Lecce. Defensively vulnerable, Lazio conceded at least one goal in eight of their last ten Serie A road trips, including a 3:1 defeat at Parma earlier this month. Seven of Lazio´s last ten away encounters in Italy saw both teams score.

After a slow start to their season, Lecce have begun to pick up some form in recent weeks with two wins and only one defeat recorded in their last five contests. Marco Giampaolo´s side are now up to 14th in the division with 16 points collected from 16 games played.

Unbeaten in their last four home matches, I Giallorossi picked up a well-deserved 1:1 draw against Juventus before a much-needed 2:1 win against Monza in their most recent matchup at Stadio Ettore Giardiniero.

Historically, this fixture has been a near-lock for goal chasers, with BTTS landing in nine of the last ten meetings. Given Lazio's catastrophic 6-0 drubbing on Monday, Lecce will undoubtedly fancy their chances of piling on the pressure against their vulnerable and out-of-form hosts.

Lazio’s impressive scoring record on the road adds further weight to my expected BTTS outcome this weekend. The visitors only failed to find the net in two of their last 21 Serie A away games.

Taking all of this into account, I’m confidently backing BTTS, with the expectation that Lecce could snatch a point - or more - against a Lazio side that may still be reeling from their Monday night drubbing.
