Lazio will be looking to close the gap on league leaders Napoli in what promises to be a potentially exciting evening of football in Italy´s capital.

The hosts come into this fixture boosted by back-to-back victories against Cagliari (2:1) and Monza (5:1) in the past fortnight. Marco Baroni´s men had failed to win five of seven previous fixtures before their improved performances in February. 

While usually strong on their own patch, a 6:0 defeat against Inter earlier in the season had certainly dented the confidence of I Biancocelesti. Lazio failed to win three of their next five matches in Rome, while they failed to keep a clean sheet in 11 of their last 13 home Serie A games. As a consequence of their defensive issues, BTTS occurred in ten of those matches. 

Napoli make the trip to the Olimpico still top of Serie A despite dropping points in both of their last two fixtures. Held to 1:1 draws against Roma and Udinese, Antonio Conte´s side now sit just one point clear of Inter in the race for the Scudetto. 

Like Lazio, BTTS has been a frequent occurrence in recent weeks for Gli Azzurri. Napoli saw both teams score in each of their last four games and in five of their last six road matches.

Previous meetings between these sides at the Olimpico proved similarly entertaining. Lazio claimed a 3:1 win in their most recent encounter in the Coppa Italia in December while three of four previous matches in Rome saw both teams score.

While Napoli are favoured to pick up the points, I'm putting my faith in both teams scoring in what promises to be a fiery contest at the Olimpico.
