La Liga came to an end. In the last round, teams have very little to play for, considering all important things have already been decided. In one of the matches, two teams that have been projected as relegation candidates, Las Palmas and Alaves, will face off at Estadio de Gran Canaria in Las Palmas.

Las Palmas secured promotion last year and had an absolutely great first part of this season. It even looked like they could secure Europe as they held 9th place after about two-thirds of the season. Still, the last part of the season has been a disaster and Los Amarillos dropped to 15th place. It was obvious that Las Palmas would easily secure survival, which was their primary goal. So, despite a bad finish of the season, we can call this season a success. 

Alaves are also one of the teams that exceeded their expectations this season. Last year they earned promotion and this year, they will most likely finish in the top half of the league's table. Throughout the season, they were constantly in the middle of the league's table, and with four wins in the last six games, they further improved their standings. Currently, they hold 10th place with 45 points, and regardless of the result, they will not move significantly up or down. 

Las Palmas vs Alaves pick: Under 2.5 goals

These two teams are among the best in the league for this type of bet as 70% of their La Liga games finished with fewer than three goals.  

With 32 goals scored in 37 rounds (0.86 per game), Las Palmas is the fourth-worst offensive team in La Liga, and Alaves wasn't much better, with just 35 goals scored. However, both teams' defensive performances kept them pretty high on the league table. 

Additionally, Las Palmas are in bad form, failing to win the last 13 matches and failing to score in nine of those 13 games. On the other hand, Alaves are in good form, but almost all of their good performances came at home. Away from it, they lost four of the last six while scoring only one goal! 

In the previous h2h game, Las Palmas won 1:0 and were easily under 2.5 goals line. Also, six of the last seven h2h games finished with fewer than three goals.

Considering the previous h2h games, Las Palmas's terrible form, and Alaves' offensive struggles away from home, we expect a game with fewer than three goals.
