For most Swedish teams, the season ended, but not for Landskrona and Varnamo. The two teams will meet in two games to decide which team will play in Allsvenskan, the highest level of football in the country, while the loser will spend 2025 in Superettan. 

Landskrona had a superb start to the 2024 season and were the league leader for most of the season. However, the team from Scania won only two of the last nine matches in all competitions, so Landskrona eventually finished third in Superettan. In the previous game, Max Molder's team lost 3-0 on the road against Utsikten. That was another disappointing Landskrona performance, so they will need much better to compete with Varnamo in the playoff. 

For most of 2024, Varnamo is fighting to avoid relegation. In the end, they finished with one point more than Kalmar, and that led to the playoff instead of the direct relegation. Varnamo are solid in the previous months as they lost only two of the last eight matches (mostly were draws). In the previous game, Varnamo played 0-0 at home against Elfsborg.
