Qualification for the final stages of the Gulf Cup of Nations is up for grabs on Friday as Kuwait and Qatar battle it out in Ardhiyah. 

One of the pre-tournament favourites, Qatar have struggled to hit the heights expected and now face a must-win fixture after picking up just one point from their first two group fixtures. After a 1:1 draw with the UAE Luis Garcia´s men slipped to a 2:1 defeat against Oman. With just one point on the board, Qatar must now win on Friday to secure a place in the semi-finals. 

Typically involved in entertaining outcomes, the Qatari´s have seen BTTS in eight of their nine most recent matches. Eight of their last nine also saw a minimum of three goals scored.

Kuwait comes into Friday's contest needing only a draw to secure their place in the last four. Following a 1:1 draw with Oman, Pizzi´s side scored a vital 2:1 win against the UAE, leaving them within touching distance of securing qualification. 

Much like their opponents on Friday, Kuwait have seen both teams scoring in a large proportion of matches played in recent months. BTTS occurred in seven of Al-Azraq´s last eight matches since October.

With those numbers in mind, and considering the leaky Qatari defence, BTTS should offer the most value in a game that really could go either way. 

I'm putting my faith on both teams scoring, with Kuwait capable of sending Qatar to a surprise first round exit.
