Kilmarnock will be looking to record third consecutive home wins for the first time this season when they play host to St. Mirren on Thursday afternoon.
The hosts started the month of December on a very bad note, conceding six goals to Rangers without responding on the road. Derek McInnes' side responded well with a four-match unbeaten run that included two wins and two draws. The Pride of Ayrshire were unable to extend that run last weekend when they travelled to Hibernian on the 20th day of the season, losing 1:0.
St Mirren meanwhile were unable to extend their three-match winning streak last weekend when they hosted Dundee. The Saints fought hard to level the scores before half-time after going behind inside 30 minutes, but were unable to prevent Dundee from adding a second in the second half. The defeat dropped St Mirren to fifth in the table and a win over St Mirren on Thursday will not be enough to push them into the top four.
Kilmarnock vs St. Mirren Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals
When it comes to defending, Kilmarnock have been very solid in recent months, especially at Rugby Park. The hosts kept a clean sheet in each of their last two home games and conceded under one goal in all but one of their last five.
Most recent top-flight encounters between Kilmarnock and St Mirren have also been far less entertaining, with only two of the last thirteen meetings producing more than two goals. Bets on under 1.5 goals actually won in seven of those games.
- Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
- Kilmarnock vs St. Mirren prediction: 1-0

Kilmarnock team news
Scottish professional Kyle Magennis will be unavailable to Kilmarnock head coach Derek McInne on Thursday due to injury.
Magennis has returned to training following a hamstring injury that has kept him out since October, but Thursday’s game will come too soon for the midfielder.
The hosts will also be without the services of Stuart Findlay (ankle injury) and Daniel Armstrong who is suspended after the red card against Hibernian last time out.
