Kilmarnock face a third successive home fixture on Wednesday as they look to bounce back from a damaging 1:0 reversal against Ross County on Sunday. 

Derek McInnes´s side had enjoyed an improved run of form before Sunday´s setback, picking up three wins while losing just one of their six previous Premiership fixtures. 

Usually strong at Rugby Park, Killie claimed three consecutive home wins before County´s surprise win in Ayrshire. 

However, despite their solid home form which has seen them lose only two of their last ten fixtures at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock remain in a relegation dogfight, placed just one point above Hearts who currently occupy the relegation playoff spot. 

A lack of goals usually results in low-scoring outcomes for the home side. Killie saw under 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last ten home matches and in six of their seven most recent matches,

Motherwell return to action on Wednesday boosted by a 2:0 win against Aberdeen on Sunday. The Steelmen had failed to win four successive Premiership matches over the Christmas period before seeing off the out-of-form Dons at Fir Park. 

Away from home, Stuart Kettlewell´s side have fallen to defeat in four of their last five away fixtures, including a 1:0 loss at Hearts ten days ago.

With neither side in great form, a low-scoring contest seems likely on Wednesday. Previous meetings between these sides have followed a similar route with six of their last seven encounters seeing under 2.5 goals scored.

Given those factors, I'm putting my money on less than three goals scored on Wednesday.
