After Cameroon hammered Kenya (4:1) just three days ago in Yaoundé, the two teams will face off again against each other in the fourth round of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, but this time on a neutral pitch - Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala (Uganda).
Kenya are #102 on the FIFA World Ranking List and #23 in the CAF Region. The popular "Harambee Stars" have never reached the World Cup and haven't had much success in the AFCON as well. For the previous AFCON, they were disqualified due to a FIFA suspension and failed to qualify for the tournament in 2021. In these Qualifiers, Kenya is 3rd with four points in three games and are under pressure to win points in order to have a real chance of reaching the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Cameroon are one of the best African national teams - currently ranked as the eighth-best in the continent according to the FIFA World Ranking. The popular "Indomitable Lions" managed to win five AFCON titles but only reached the 1/8 Finals in the previous one. The Lions started the Qualifiers really well, as they are 1st in the group with seven points in three rounds. They are one of the favorites to win the upcoming AFCON itself, so Qualifying for the tournament is a must.

After a 4:1 loss against Cameroon, coach Engin Firat spoke to the media. He was furious with his players, but also with the referee. He said that he spoke English with him, but when he tried to talk again, the referee said that he doesn't speak English. "We made too many mistakes, especially with the first goal, but in the end, Cameroon played well," the coach concluded.

In recent days, coach Marc Brys was furious with the Cameroon Football Federation because they did not include the name of his assistant on the match sheet. The coach threatened that he would resign if something like that happened again. There are speculations that the relationship between the coach and the federation is not good for some time, and we wouldn't be too surprised if he resigns soon.
