Meanwhile, Slovenia slumped to a disappointing 3:0 defeat in Norway as Erling Haaland broke his countries scoring record at the age of just 24. 

While the Kazakhs tend to struggle on the road, their recent home record is much stronger with victories recorded in seven of their last ten games in Almaty. Stanislav Cherchesov´s side also picked up a goalless draw in their most recent Nations League fixture at Ortalyq stadıon against Norway. 

Slovenia did claim a come-from-behind 2:1 win when these nations last met in the European Championship qualifiers 18 months ago, however the visitors have struggled to find much winning form in recent away fixtures. 

Matjaž Kek´s side come into this Nations League contest now winless in their last five away trips in this competition since 2020. After a poor performance in Norway, the Slovenians look a little short to back against a Kazakh side that does raise their game in home fixtures.
