- Competition: World Cup Qualifiers
- Date: Tuesday, 25th March, 2025
- Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
- Venue: Nagyerdei Stadion (Debrecen)
After both teams secured victories in their opening matches of the World Cup Qualifiers, Israel and Norway will face off against each other in the second round on a neutral pitch in Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen (Hungary).
Israel are a team that never appeared in EURO and have only once appeared in the World Cup, back in 1970 in Mexico. In 2024, they played in UEFA Nations League A with Belgium, France, and Italy, and it was evident they did not belong in that company, finishing as the 4th team and getting relegated to League B. In these Qualifiers, games vs Norway could be the deciding factor because these teams will probably battle for second place and the WC Playoffs.
Norway are searching for its first World Cup appearance for the first time since 1998, while haven't appeared in the EURO since 2000. Still, there are undoubtedly some positive signs about the team, as they did great in the previous UEFA Nations League. They won League B, Group 3 with Austria, Slovenia, and Kazakhstan and secured promotion to League A for the first time since the competition started.
Israel vs Norway pick: Norway to win
Israel are on a good mini-run. They won against Estonia and Belgium and drew against France in the last three matches. Still, before those games, they lost four in a row. Moreover, Israel lost six out of the previous ten matches. Also, since they play their home games at neutral pitch, we can exclude the home pitch advantage for this match.
Norway are in excellent form. They won five of the last six games, losing only to Austria. The Lions were fantastic offensively, scoring 20 goals - 3.33 per game! But looking at their offensive talent, that is hardly a surprise.
Simply put, we firmly believe Norway are a much better team overall, and considering their fantastic form, we expect the Lions to secure all three points in Hungary.
Israel team news
The squad is pretty much the same as it was for the UEFA Nations League games. Dia Saba and Miguel Vitor are the players who got some playing time in the past and aren't in the squad this time. Both aren't called because they are injured, but they were only rotation players. So, their absences should be a massive factor.

Norway team news
Leo Ostigard suffered an injury in the previous game against Moldova and had to leave the field after only 37 minutes. There is no official news about the seriousness of the injury, and the defender is listed as questionable.
After a 5:0 win over Moldova, coach Stale Solbakken spoke to the media. He was satisfied with the first half, saying it was crucial they scored an early goal. "It was the first in the qualifiers, and as a coach, you sometimes think the worst. We have seen Moldova get really run off the field against Ukraine, but they beat Poland 3-2 and were almost victorious against the Czech Republic," the coach added.
