Last year, Inter were fantastic in Serie A, dominantly winning the Scudetto, leaving the second-placed AC Milan 19 points away. When a team wins a Scudetto, it is impossible to say that the season was unsuccessful. However, the impression is that Nerazzurri were capable of more, and most football pundits expected more from them in the Champions League and Coppa Italia. Over the Summer, the club made minimal changes, only adding a few good players to add depth. Even though they started the season with a 2:2 draw, we still believe they are the primary favorite for the title. The bookies also see them as the clear-cut favorite, offering odds around 1.7 for them to win the Scudetto, while the second-favorite, Juventus, has odds around 4.0 to win the title.

Since returning to Serie A, Lecce have been in the lower part of the league's table. Yes, they managed to secure survival, but 36 and 38 points won are surely not something to brag about. This season started terribly for the "Giallorossi" as they lost 4:0 at home against Atalanta. Now they will have to look for their first points against a team they had no success, especially at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter Milan vs Lecce pick: Inter Milan to win and cover the -1.5 AH spread

Inter Milan opened the season with a 2:2 draw against Genoa. Still, Inter were much better team but conceded goals after two uncharacteristic mistakes by their defense. We believe that is something that will rarely happen to Simone Inzagi's team, and we think they will now be highly motivated to win three points at the first home game. Last year, Inter won 14 of 19 games while covering the -1.5 AH spread on ten occasions. Considering they only added depth and did not lose anyone important this Summer, it is fair to expect they will be dominant again.

On the other hand, Lecce's start to the season was a pure disaster as they lost 4:0 at home against Atalanta. Yes, Atalanta is one of the best teams in Italy, but if they can dominate them like that away from home, Inter surely can on their turf.

Additionally, Lecce were much better last season at their pitch. They won 24 points at Stadio Via del Mare compared to only 14 away from it. Against the top five teams last year, Lecce had a disastrous record. They lost all four matches with a 0:11 goal difference! So, expecting even a goal against Inter seems like a pretty challenging task.

Last year, Inter won both h2h games while covering the -1.5 AH spread both times (2:0 and 4:0). Also, at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Inter won in ten consecutive h2h games and covered the mentioned handicap on seven occasions.

Considering all the above, anything but a big win for Nerazzurri at Giuseppe Meazz would be a massive surprise for us.
