An entertaining first-leg contest in Istanbul saw Turkey emerge with an impressive 3:1 win that leaves them in pole position to secure promotion to League A. After a tight first half saw both teams get on the scoresheet, the Turks secured a vital victory in Istanbul with late goals from İrfan Kahveci and Muhammed Aktürkoğlu delighting the passionate home support.

While the Turks were deserved winners in Istanbul, Hungary showed their quality throughout an engrossing contest at RAMS Park. Now with the underdog tags on their shoulders, it would be unwise to discount a side that has shown their continued improvement in recent years, particularly in securing promotion to the Nations League A.
