After both teams suffered elimination from the DFB Pokal, Hoffenheim and Freiburg will face off in the 13th round of the Bundesliga at PreZero Arena in Sinsheim.

Hoffenheim are playing their 17th consecutive season in the Bundesliga, during which they were mostly a mid-table team. Unfortunately, this season, they are not looking great, and there is a big concern that they could end up in the relegation zone. Right now, they are in 14th place with 12 points from 12 matches - only two away from the danger zone. And in the EL, they are struggling as well, currently sitting in 25th place with only five points in five rounds. What is even worse, since they changed the coach on 11th November, they lost three in a row, and there are very few things to be optimistic about.

Freiburg are one of the teams that were mostly between fifth and tenth place on the Bundesliga table. Last year, they finished only tenth and missed Europe. However, since they missed it, they focused on the Bundesliga and are doing well. Right now, they are in 6th place with 20 points, just one point away from the desired fourth place, which leads to the Champions League.

Hoffenheim vs Freiburg pick: Both teams to score

Hoffenheim lost three games in a row, but all of them were on the road. Still, expecting that they can keep a clean sheet after allowing eight goals in the last three is totally unreal. At home, they lost just once in the last six matches and have scored at least one goal in nine out of the last ten matches in all competitions.

Freiburg have been terrible away from home in recent matches, losing back-to-back games with seven conceded goals. So, we do not believe in their defense either. On the other hand, they are doing fairly well offensively and scoring pretty regularly. They managed to score at least a goal in five out of the last seven road matches and should do well offensively against out-of-form Hoffenheim.

We saw both teams scoring in the last three h2h games. Additionally, we saw both teams scoring in eight out of the last nine h2h games. Considering the trend in the previous h2h games and all the above, we expect an exciting game with both teams scoring.
