On Sunday evening, two struggling Serie A teams, Gremio and Fluminense, will face off at Arena do Grêmio in Porto Alegre.

Gremio had an exciting last few seasons. They were relegated to Serie B in the 2020/21 season, only four years after winning their Copa Libertadores title. Still, they managed to return to Serie A in the following season, finishing 2nd - just two points away from the title. However, this season was nothing short of a disaster, at least in Serie A, where they are 19th with only seven points in ten rounds. Still, they did OK in Copa Libertadores, as they managed to reach the 1/8 Finals.

Fluminense are one of the most famous clubs in Brazil. They had a fantastic last season, winning their first Copa Libertadores. In Serie A, they were in the upper half of the league's table in recent years, but not too close to securing the title. However, like Gremio, Fluminense are having an absolute terrible season so far. They are the last-placed team with only six points after 12 rounds. On the positive side, they did great in the Copa Libertadores, easily reaching the 1/8 Finals.

Gremio vs Fluminense pick: Under 2.5 goals

Gremio are in absolutely terrible form having won just one point in the last six games while scoring only four goals - 0.67 per game. They generally have problems with offense and, because of it, were under 2.5 goals in 70% of their Serie A games.

Fluminense are in even worse form with five losses in a row and only one scored goal! Against better teams, like Borafogo and Flamengo, they even failed to shoot on the goal for the entire 90 minutes. So, it is unreal to expect a good offensive performance.
