Greece haven't played at a major tournament since 2014. However, in the last few months, it seems that the Greek fans can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Greece has won the last four matches in a row, including three games in the UEFA Nations League. Greece are currently three points ahead of the next on the table, England, and are now the clear candidate to progress to the higher level. In the previous match, Greece shockingly won 2-1 in London. The teams were close to splitting points, but Vangelis Pavlidis, with his second goal in the second half's stoppage time, secured a big celebration for the Greeks. 

Ireland has missed every major tournament since 2016. In the previous EURO qualifications, Ireland collected only six points from eight matches. Things didn't change much after that, either, as Ireland won only two of the next eight games, including friendlies. In the previous match, Heimir Hallgrimsson's team won 2-1 on the road against Finland. The Irish performance in the second half of that match was probably the best 45 minutes for the team in a while, and that will give them some confidence ahead of the game against Greece on Sunday.
