- Competition: Spain - Segunda Division
- Date: Friday, 10th, January 2025
- Kickoff: 19:30 UK / 20:30 CEST
- Venue: Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes (Granada)
In their quest to get back into the promotion race, Granada will host Burgos at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes on Friday in a key Segunda Division fixture.
Granada didn’t have a bright start to 2025, despite showing a fighting spirit, as they were defeated by La Liga outfit Getafe with the narrowest of margins in extra time, which brought an end to their Copa del Rey campaign in the third round. Given that they have no other obligations besides league games, the Nazaries will go all-in on their push for promotion to Spain's top division, currently residing in eighth with 33 points in their pocket, just six points less than table-toppers Almeria.
Granada's visit will mark Burgos' first official appearance since the turn of the calendar year, as their Copa del Rey campaign was cut short in December with a slender 0-1 loss to Marbella in the second round. Since that cup setback, Burgaleses have produced a brilliant response by stringing together a four-game unbeaten run in the division (W2 D2), which has allowed them to climb up the table and create a comfortable five-point cushion over the teams living in the relegation zone.
Granada vs Burgos Betting Tips: GRANADA TO WIN
Burgos’ recent improvement deserves credit, but it’s important to note that three of those four matches were against teams below them in the standings, and we think they’ll face a tough reality check from one of the most formidable squads in the Segunda Division. After all, the Burgaleses' road record has proven to be one of the worts in the division, as they have failed to win any of their last seven away fixtures, with six of those ending in empty-handed. Conversely, Granada will fancy their chances of picking up all three points here, as they've produced strong showings in their backyard recently, winning four of their last six home games and netting 3+ goals in each of those wins. Ultimately, we reckon the Nazaries will manage to put in another free-scoring display and grab a vital three-pointer without breaking too much of a sweat against Burgos, whose road form has been dreadful for months.

Granada team news
After three months out due to tendon surgery, Carlos Neva has finally returned to team training, but the clash with Burgos will come too soon for him, while Pablo Insua and Miguel Angel Brau will be assessed as they missed yesterday's training session.
The 29-year-old forward Myrto Uzuni is doubtful after falling ill and training separately in recent days, while Cameroon midfielder Martin Hongla will miss at least two matches due to a direct red card in the 1-1 draw against Eibar last time out.

Burgos team news
On the other hand, Burgos will face fewer personnel issues ahead of their visit to Granada, as Lisandro Lopez and Kevin Appin are the only confirmed absentees, recovering from long-term muscle and knee injuries.
The 30-year-old defender Raul Navarro has recovered from his long-term injury, but he's still not ready to play, although coach Luis Miguel Ramis is expected to field the usual starting XI that led to their four-match unbeaten run.
