Goztepe secured a return to the Super Lig last season after finishing second in the 1st Lig. This year, the goal was only to survive, and they are very close to doing so, considering they are in 10th place with 40 points - six points away from relegation and with a game played less. It even looked like they could secure Europe, but the second part of the season was a disaster, and they blew their chance. Meanwhile, they had a nice run in the Cup, reaching the Semi-Finals, where Trabzon eliminated them 2:0 in the previous match.
If we exclude the 2020/21 season, Basaksehir have been among the best five teams in Turkey in the previous decade, even winning the title in the 2019/20 season. This year, it looked like The Grey Owls would have a much worse finish and that they will miss on European spots. However, after winning four straight, they are in sixth place with 48 points, just two away from Europe and a game played less. So, they are under pressure to win points in the remaining six games, but their schedule is not favorable as they will face both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray in that period.

Basaksehir are on a fantastic four-game winning streak. All of their four wins were against excellent teams - Eyupspor, Konyaspor, Besiktas, and Gaziantep. Two of those wins were on the road against Besiktas and Eyupspor - teams that are better placed than Goztepe.
In the first h2h game, Basaksehir dominated and won 4:1. Considering the previous h2h game, Goztepe's terrible second part of the season, and Basaksehir's fantastic four-game winning streak, we believe the visitors are much closer to winning the upcoming Super Lig tie.

After losing to Trabzonspor in the Cup Semi-Finals, coach Stanimir Stoilov spoke to the media. He said they had a very good start to the match and created a couple of chances. However, after failing to score, Trabzonspor took over the match and deservedly secured the Finals.
Djalma Silva, Isaac Solet, Malcom Bokele, Novatus Miroshi, and Juan, who missed the previous game with injuries, should remain sidelined.

Striker Krzysztof Piatek received a straight red card in the previous game against Gaziantep and will be suspended. His absence will definitely be a factor, considering he scored 30 goals in 44 appearances this season. With him suspended, João Figueiredo should get the opportunity to start.
