Girona came back to harsh reality after a magnificent last season when they battled for a title for most of the year. They eventually finished third and secured the Champions League, which was a massive success. However, they were terrible both in the CL and La Liga this year. Right now, the Catalan team are battling to avoid relegation, but we cannot say they are doing a good job, considering they sit in 16th place with 34 points with only seven rounds to go. Luckily for them, the danger zone is five points away, but after failing to win in the last nine, they definitely have a reason for concern.

For the last four years, Real Betis have been between the fifth and seventh-best team in Spain, constantly securing Europe. This year, the Andalusian team is on pace for another similar finish in La Liga. They are in 6th place with 48 points from 31 matches and are in a solid position to maybe secure the Champions League next year as they are three points away from the desired fifth place, but with a game more played than 5th-placed Villarreal. Besides their solid year in La Liga, they are doing a fine job in the Conference League, where they will face off against Fiorentina in the Semi-Finals. So, for now, it is a good season overall, with the potential to be a glorious one with a strong finish.

Girona are in terrible form, having lost three in a row and failing to win in the last nine La Liga games. During that nine-game stretch, they have scored only seven goals - 0.78 goals per game. That is significantly worse than their season's average of 1.23 goals per game. So, we do not think we will see a great offensive performance in this match as well.
