With Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina in this group, too, it was always realistic that Germany and Netherlands would be big favorites for the first two positions. After three rounds, the two teams with the best reputation are close to qualifying for the quarterfinal. 

Maybe somebody remembers how many problems Germany had in 2023 when they won only three of 11 matches. However, since Julian Nagelsmann took over the national team, everything came back to its place, and Germany again became one of the top European football teams. Their only disappointing game under Nagelsmann was the EURO quarterfinal, when they lost against the future champions, Spain. On Friday, Germany won 2-1 on the road against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Guests probably deserved to win that match with a more significant margin, as they were a much better team most of the game. 

The Netherlands had a successful EURO campaign, too, as they lost in the semifinal against England. They came to the UEFA Nations League with a desire to finish among the top two teams in the group, and that result will put them among the seeded teams for the upcoming World Cup qualifications. The Netherlands are unbeaten in three matches since EURO, including a 1-1 draw in Budapest on Friday night. Ronald Koeman's team was closer to a victory, but in the end, the Netherlands took home only one point.

Germany scored nine goals in the last three matches. On the other hand, the Netherlands scored eight in the same span. Germany and the Netherlands met last month in Amsterdam, and that game finished 2-2. We should expect another high-scoring match on Monday night in Munich.
