  • Competition: UEFA Nations League, League A
  • Date: Saturday, 16th November, 2024
  • Kickoff: 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
  • Venue: Europa-Park Stadion (Freiburg)

Germany are one of the best national teams in the World, but they haven't had much success lately. They finished the last two World Cup appearances in the Group phase and reached only the 1/8 and 1/4 Finals in the previous EUROs. Still, they are still one of the best teams in the World and easily secured the next stage of UEFA Nations League A. They are 1st in group 3 with ten points in four rounds and will most likely stay there as they only need one point in the remaining two games.

Bosnia & Herzegovina had a very difficult period behind them. Their only good performance was in the UEFA Nations League, as they managed to move to League A but are on the path to dropping to League B. Right now, they are in the last place with just one point in four rounds. In order to reach at least the relegation playout, they need all six points in the remaining two games against Germany and Netherlands, which is almost impossible.

Germany vs Bosnia & Herzegovina pick: Germany to win and cover the -2 AH spread

The last time Germany lost a game was in the EURO Quarter-Finals against Spain, which eventually won the competition. That is their only loss in the last 13 games in all competitions but even that loss was after ET in a super competitive match. Additionally, they were good offensively in this UEFA Nations League, scoring 12 goals in four games - three per game. So, scoring three or more goals against the worst team in the group should be a realistic scenario.

Bosnia & Herzegovina won just one point in ten games in all competitions. Their only point was against Hungary, where they were totally outplayed and deserved to lose. We could easily see a 13-game losing streak. During that period, they lost by two or more goals on five occasions.

In the previous game at Bilino Polje in Zenica, Germany won 2:1 but also had two goals disallowed, and we could easily see a bigger win.

Simply, Germany are a much better team, in better form, and are playing at home, and even though they are without a motive, I expect a comfortable win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Coach Sergej Barbarez will be without some key players in the remaining two games - Sead Kolasinac and Stjepan Radeljic. Also, Amar Dedic is called and with the NT but he is having injury problems and will most likely not play in the games against Germany and Netherlands.
