Genoa vs Lecce Betting Tips - Under 2.5 Goals

A tight Serie A contest seems likely this weekend with two sides short in winning form colliding at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris. 

Genoa come into Friday's Serie A fixture now winless in three matches following a 1:1 draw with Cagliari last weekend. January signing Maxwel Cornet bagged his second goal in six appearances to secure a decent road point for Patrick Vieira´s side. 

Despite winning just one of their last six league fixtures, Genoa remain comfortably in mid-table. The Griffin sit ten points above the drop zone with ten games still to play this season. 

A lack of attacking firepower remains an issue for Vieira´s men. Genoa scored an average of just one goal per game in their last 15 Serie A outings. As a result of their profligacy in front of goal, low-scoring outcomes have been frequent. The hosts have seen under 2.5 goals in eight of their last 10 matches and in five of their previous six at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.

Lecce face Friday´s fixture with the threat of relegation still hanging over their head. Marco Giampaolo´s side sit 16th in the division, only three points above the drop zone, after picking up just two draws from their last five Serie A outcomes. 

Like the home side, a lack of quality in the final third has been problematic for I Giallorossi. Lecce failed to score in four successive league fixtures before a 3:2 defeat against Milan last weekend. 

On the road, four of Lecce´s last five games saw under 2.5 goals scored, and with both teams struggling in the final third, a similar outcome should be on the cards this weekend.

Under 2.5 goals is my best bet for Friday´s Serie A fixture at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.
