The top two nations in Group B of the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers go head to head this week as Gabon play host to Morocco.
Gabon sit second, four points below the Atlas Lions of Morocco who are the group’s leaders with four wins from four games.
The hosts have improved greatly since missing out on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Thierry Mouyouma’s side sit second in Group F of the 2026 World Cup qualifying and also sit second in Group B of Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.
Morocco’s form meanwhile hasn’t been different from the one we saw in Qatar. The Atlas Lions boast a 100% record in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup and are also doing well in the AFCON Qualifiers. Walid Regragui’s side have won all their four fixtures in Group B so far 14-2 and will be looking to continue that form on Friday.
Gabon vs Morocco Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
While Gabon have been very good defensively of late with the Panthers keeping a clean sheet in each of their last three encounters, their defensive record against the Moroccans isn’t good and I fancy them to concede more than one goal on Friday.
Thierry Mouyouma’s men are without a clean sheet in each of their last four meetings with Morocco and conceded more than one goal in as many games. All four encounters ended with over 2.5 goals.
Morocco are also scoring goals for fun at the moment. The visitors scored at least twice in all but one of their last six matches and each of the last two produced at least four goals.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
- Gabon vs Morocco prediction: 1-3

Gabon team news
Rody Effaghe, Edlin Essang-Matouti, Roy Mouniengue, Brimau Nziengui, Yannis M'Bemba and Loïc Owono, who each have just one cap, are the least experienced players in Thierry Mouyouma's squad.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the most experienced, with 79 caps and the former Arsenal man will be hoping to make his first appearance for Gabon since September.

Morocco team news
MAS Fez goalkeeper Ayoub El Khayati and FAR Rabat goalkeeper Salaheddine Chihab are the two uncapped players called up by Morocco coach Walid Regragui for the November international break.
There has been a flurry of news in the last few hours about players withdrawing from their national teams, but the likes of Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat and Brahim Diaz are available for Morocco.
