An intriguing Premier League contest takes place at Cairo International Stadium on Monday evening as Future FC hosts Smouha SC.

Separated by just two points in the Egyptian Premier League standings, this fixture should prove particularly tight and evenly balanced.

Very much in contention to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup, the home side sit fourth in the division, two points ahead of Smouha, but having played one game more than the visitors.

Future come into Monday´s PL contest after a disappointing 2:1 defeat against Al Ahly in their most recent match. Talaat Youssef´s side had won three successive matches, and five of their six previous games before last weekend's home reversal.

In home matches, Future have struggled to find much consistency this season. Youssef´s men won three but drew six of their last 11 PL games in front of their own support. 

Smouha arrive at the Cairo International Stadium buoyed by successive Premier League victories in the past fortnight. Ahmed Samy´s side are up to sixth in the division, and could climb above the hosts should they score a victory on Monday. 

Still, an away victory is a big ask with Smouha recording just three wins in their last 14 away fixtures. Six of those games finished deadlocked, and I suspect another share of the points could be on the cards.

Backing up those suspicions, a quick check of the H2H record reveals the last five meetings between these sides over the past two years finished as draws.

Considering that past record, and both side´s inability to turn draws into wins in respective home and away fixtures, I'm taking a chance on this Premier League game finishing level.
