Fulham had two very solid seasons since returning to the English top-flight division, finishing tenth and thirteenth. This season, the Cottagers continued with good performances, proving that the last two seasons weren't luck. Right now, they are in 8th with 11 points from seven rounds and only three points away from the Champions League spots! To be fair, that is not a realistic goal for them anyway, and they are surely satisfied with their current standings.

Pretty much their only poor performance this season was in the Carabao Cup when Preston won after a penalty shootout.

Aston Villa are blossoming under Unai Emery. Last year, they finished 4th and secured a Champions League appearance where they are doing great, as they won both games so far. They even managed to win against one of the main contenders for the CL title, Bayern Munich. In the Premier League, the Villans are doing well as well, winning 14 points in seven rounds - four points away from the top spot. Even though nobody really considers them a strong title contender, they have shown that they have the potential to upset big teams like Manchester City, Liverpool, or Arsenal.

Fulham vs Aston Villa pick: Both teams to score

Fulham are in really good form. They won two games against Newcastle and Nottingham before finally losing to Manchester City away from home. Still, they did well even against Citizens, losing 3:2. They were pretty good offensively and in nine games this season only failed to score in the season's opener against Manchester United. So, at home, they should be able to score agaisnt Aston Villa which had just one clean sheet in five road games.

Aston Villa are among the best offensive teams in the league. So far, they scored 12 goals in seven rounds - 1.7 per game. Still, we believe they are capable of even more. This season, the Villans were especially good away from home, where they scored two (or more) goals in five games in all competitions. So, at least a goal against Cottagers is a pretty real scenario.

These teams met twice in the previous season, with Ason Villa winning 2:1 and 3:1. Considering all the above, we believe that both teams to score bet is the safest option for this Premier League tie.
