Fredrikstad had an excellent last year, winning the Cup. That was their first major trophy since 2006, when they also won the Cup. And in the Eliteserien, they also did fine, finishing sixth with 51 points, just two away from the European spots. But since they secured it through the Cup, that was irrelevant. This year, the popular Aristocrats won once and lost once in the first two rounds against Brann and Rosenborg.

Valerenga suffered a surprising relegation in 2023 after 22 consecutive years in the Norwegian top-flight division. Luckily, they managed to secure an instant return after winning the OBOS-Ligaen.
