Barrow will be looking to continue their strong start to the 2024-25 campaign on Tuesday when they travel to the Highbury Stadium for their Football League trophy Groupstage game with Barrow.

Stephen Clemence’s side have done so well in League Two so far this season, with just goal difference separating them from the top of the tree. Things have not been the same in cup competitions, though. The Bluebirds got knocked out of the League Cup in the Third round after that damaging 5-0 defeat to Chelsea at the Bridge and their League Trophy campaign didn’t also start well with Barrow suffering a 3-2 defeat to Bolton on the opening day.

Fleetwood meanwhile have been difficult to beat this season. The Fishermen lost only one of their nine League Two games played so far and come into Tuesday’s game with a four match unbeaten run. That run has seen them register two wins and suffered as many defeats. The heartbreaking thing is that none of those wins came at home.

Fleetwood vs Barrow Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals

One thing Fleetwood need to work on is their defence. The hosts boast just one clean sheet from their last nine games across all competitions. They shipped exactly two goals in four of the last seven, with bets on over 2.5 goals winning on four occasions.

Barrow have also not done many good things defensively in recent weeks. Stephen Clemence’s side finished just one of their last eight games without conceding and bets on over 2.5 goals were won in half of those encounters.

  • Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals
  • Fleetwood vs Barrow prediction: 2-2

Fleetwood team news

James Bolton is a doubt for Fleetwood head coach Charlie Adam on Tuesday. Bolton lasted only 45 minutes in the goalless draw with Bromley on Saturday afternoon before being replaced through to a knock and the defender could miss the visit of Barrow.

Barrow

Barrow team news

Head coach Stephen Clemence is expected to resist the temptation to make alterations to his Barrow side that came from a goal down to beat Cheltenham last time out.

Emile Acquah scored his third goal of the campaign in that game and the English professional will lead the line and could be supported by Chris Popov and Elliot Newby.
