  • Competition: Uruguayan Primera División
  • Date:  13th November 2024
  • Kick-off: 19:30 UTC / 20:30 CET
  • Venue: Parque Capurro

Nacional will be looking to register four wins in a row for the second time in under two months on Wednesday evening when they face Fenix at Parque Capurro.

Fenix have finished the Clausura in the bottom half of the table in each of their last three Primera División campaigns and it doesn't look like they're going to stop there this term. Nicolás Vigneri's side sit in tenth place with just two games remaining and have won just four games this term. However, Los de Capurro will take heart from the fact that all four of their victories this term have come at home.

Nacional are edging closer to winning the Clausura phase of the Uruguayan Primera División for the second time in three years. Martín Lasarte's side have won all but one of their last seven league games, a run that has moved them level on points with Penarol. But with their goal difference not very good, the Whites sit in second place, meaning Wednesday’s game is a must-win.

Fenix vs Nacional Betting Tips: Nacional to win

Fenix have problems at both ends of the pitch at the moment. The hosts failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last five Uruguayan Primera División encounters and couldn’t find the back of the net in each of the last two. Their form at Parque Capurro will give them some hope ahead of Wednesday’s game but I don’t think they have what it takes to beat Nacional at the moment.

The visitors won their last three games 8-0 on aggregate and I fancy them to extend this winning streak on Wednesday.

  • Best Tip: Away team to win

Fenix team news

Fenix head coach Nicolás Vigneri prepares for Wednesday’s game with an injury free squad but Uruguayan professional Agustín Da Silveira is just one yellow card away from a suspension.

After yet another defeat last weekend against Defensor Sporting, Vigneri is expected to make changes to his XI this week.

Having been withdrawn at half-time in that encounter, Maximiliano Juambeltz Fernández is among those expected to be demoted to the bench.
