Fenerbahce invested a lot of money and added a lot of high-profile players, including Jose Mourinho, one of the best coaches in the world. They want to win the Turkish Super Lig and make a big run in Europe. In the Super Lig, they are second with 54 points - six points behind their main contender for the title, Galatasaray. But in EL, they really struggled and finished 24th, barely securing the next stage of the competition. So, we cannot say they have been great, but there are definitely some reasons for optimism, as they are undefeated in 12 games. However, they have massive injury problems (especially defensively), which will be challenging for coach Mourinho.

Anderlecht are one of the greatest clubs in Belgium, but they haven't won a title since the 2016/17 season. This season, that will probably not change since they are in 4th place, already 15 points away from the first-placed Genk. In the Europa League, they did a lot better, considering they won 14 points from eight rounds and missed the 1/8 Finals only due to a worse goal difference. While they had a better performance in the EL than Fenerbahce, the bookies see them as a big underdog, offering odds of them securing the next phase of around 3.25!

Fenerbahce vs Anderlecht pick: Over 2.5 goals

Fenerbahce are in excellent form and currently on a 12-game unbeaten run with a 75% win rate. During that time, they scored two or more goals on ten occasions. However, we do not believe in their defense, especially because they will most likely miss up to four seven defenders due to injuries! Also, in EL, they had just one clean sheet in eight matches.

Anderlecht were solid offensively as well in recent games, scoring at least a couple of goals in four of the last five games.
