A likely tight and tense occasion can be expected in Bucharest with FCSB looking to maintain their qualification hopes ahead of next week´s second-leg in France.

The Romanian hosts have enjoyed a strong campaign on the European stage, and they remain unbeaten in six of their last seven matches since a 4:0 defeat at Rangers.

Having come through the playoff round with an impressive 4:1 aggregate victory against PAOK, Ilas Charalampis´s side come into this tie as underdogs, but cannot be under-estimated given their strong performances this year.

Unbeaten in five of their last six EL games at the Arena Naţională, FCSB also picked up victories in their three most recent home fixtures. With confidence high, the Romanians can pick up a positive result against a Lyon side that has flattered to deceive this season.

While capable of raising their game to high levels, the French visitors have struggled in recent away matches. Lyon won only one of their last six on the road, and they can expect a stiff test against an in-form FCSB.

Paulo Fonseca´s side do usually travel well in this tournament, but having failed to hit the heights in recent away fixtures, may be content to avoid defeat in Romania. Lyon also failed to win four of their six most recent Europa League contests.
