A place in round 16 of the KNVP Cup will be at stake when Eindhoven and Excelsior go head to head on at the Jan Louwers Stadion on Tuesday night.

Eindhoven demolished Rijnvogels 7-1 away from home in the first round, while Excelsior beat VVV 2-1 at Stadion Woudestein to get this far.

The hosts had the chance to make it four wins in a row for the first time this season when they welcomed Excelsior to this ground in midweek. Things got off to a bad start for Eindhoven as they found themselves behind after just 13 minutes. Maurice Verberne's side pulled a goal back just after the hour mark, but conceded two more in the second half and also had a man sent off. The Blue and Whites have now failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five home games, something they will be keen to put right on Tuesday.

Excelsior meanwhile are unbeaten since their win over VVV in the first round of this competition at the end of October. The Kralingers Roodzwarten bring an eight-match unbeaten run into Tuesday's game, with five wins and three draws to their name. To make matters even more interesting, Ruben den Uil's side kept six clean sheets whilst conceding just twice in that spell.

Eindhoven may have conceded exactly three goals in half of their last four matches, but most of their recent home games were not too entertaining. Two of the last three ended with under two goals and I fancy Tuesday’s game to end similarly.

Excelsior are also very stable defensively at the time of writing with the visitors conceding just one goal in their last seven matches. Bets on under 2.5 goals won in all but one of those encounters.
