After both teams secured the FA Cup 1/16 Finals, Everton will welcome Aston Villa in the Premier League at Goodison Park in Liverpool.
The Toffees were constantly close to being relegated from the Premier League in the last three seasons but managed to survive. They have been playing in the top-flight division since 1954, with only Arsenal having a longer streak. However, they are in danger of being relegated as they are sitting in 16th place with 17 points from 19 rounds. Right now, the Toffees are only one point away from the danger zone, but with one game played less. To help them survive, the club changed coach recently, and it remains to see whether that was a good call.
Aston Villa absolutely blossomed under coach Unai Emery. Last season, they finished fourth, which was their best placement in a very long time. While their performances in the Champions League have been excellent, we expected more from them in the PL. Right now, the Villans are 8th with 32 points from 20 matches - four points away from the Champions League spots. So, if they string a couple of good games, they could catch up with the top four teams.
Everton vs Aston Villa pick: Everton to (AH 0) win
Everton have been far from impressive lately, so changing the coach was imminent. That is often a thing that can give a boost to the team, at least in the short term. Also, at home, Everton haven't been bad at all, losing just once in the last eight games!
On the other hand, Aston Villa have been absolutely terrible away from home, losing six of the last seven games while allowing 17 goals - 2.43 goals per game.
Considering all the above, but especially Villa's terrible road record, we will try with a bet on the hosts to (AH 0) win.
