Ethiopia never played at the World Cup, and that is unlikely to change as the eastern African team collected only three points in the first four rounds of the current qualifications. The second position is not too far, only three points, but it seems unlikely for Ethiopia to finish ahead of Guinea Bissau or Burkina Faso. Ethiopia lost three of the last four matches in all competitions. In the previous game, they lost 2-1 against Sudan in the African Nations Championship final, a tournament in which teams are playing only with players from their national leagues. 

Egypt are one of the best African teams, but they didn't have much success qualifying for the World Cup as the Pharaohs appeared in only three tournaments. However, they collected ten points in the first four matches in the current qualifying cycles, so it seems unlikely that Egypt could have problems progressing from this group. Hossam Hassan's team was without defeat in nine matches in a row before they lost in the African Nations Championship game against South Africa a few weeks ago.
