Empoli managed to save their status in the Serie A last season with a lot of trouble, but the beginning of this season seems quite promising. After three matches played, this squad have been undefeated siting on a high 7th position with 5 points won, although the schedule at the start is not favorable to them. In the second round, they won big pot against Roma at the Olimpico 2-1 and in the last round they managed to remain unbeaten against Bologna. The result of that match was 1:1, and it is interesting that both goals were scored in the first three minutes of the match. If they continue with similar games, Empoli has a chance to be one of the more pleasant surprise seasons in Serie A.

In the opinion of many, Juventus is Inter's biggest competitor in the fight for the Scudetto. Although the Bianconeri underwent changes both on the bench and in the playing staff, they look quite good at the start of the season. After easy victories over Como and Verona, in the match of the last round they played goalless against Roma at home. That match, typical for derby duels was not too open minded and a draw was fair outcome. It is clear that there will be some oscillations in the game of Juventus during the season, but for now it is encouraging for their fans how coach Thiago Motta's team looks.

Empoli vs Juventus pick: UNDER 2.5 GOALS

Roberto D'Aversa has only been with the new team for a little over two months, but he has already implemented his tactical ideas quite well. At the start of the new season, Empoli looks much better than in previous seasons, primarily defensively. In the first three matches, they conceded only two goals, and they played against Roma and the Champions League participant, Bologna. Although the results of previous years were not very memorable, against Juventus they were capable to play some of their better matches. The clash two seasons ago at this same stadium, when they celebrated with a convincing 4:1, will be especially remembered. Such a high victory will probably not be the case this time, because they have a much better Juventus squad against them. However, if this meeting promises something, it is the tactical outwitting of the two coaches, a lot of phisicality  on both sides. This will probably not be the best game to watch, so under 2.5 goals is the most logical choice.
