Two sides on a poor run in the Italian top flight meet this weekend at Stadio Carlo Castellani as Empoli play host to Genoa.

Empoli have not been able to put a series of good results together since their 1-0 win over Como at the beginning of November. Azzurri Empolesi come into Saturday’s game with just one win from their last six league games, with three defeats and two draws. They scored just one goal in the two home games played in that spell; something will be a concern for their fans ahead of the visit of Genoa this week.

The only home game they have conceded more than one goal this season is the 3-0 defeat to reigning champions Inter Milan. Genoa have also been very solid defensively away from home in recent weeks. The visitors kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Serie A games on the road and none of those encounters produced more than two goals.
