- Competition: La Liga 2
- Date: Friday, 8th November, 2024
- Kickoff: 19:30 UK / 20:30 CET
- Venue: Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero (Elche)
Elche were relegated from La Liga in the 2022/23 season, and even though everyone expected them to be among the promotion candidates, the team from Alicante was totally disappointing, finishing 11th. This year, after a pretty slow start, Elche are doing better and better and finally looking like a promotion candidate. Right now, they are in 6th place with 21 points, only one point away from 2nd place, which leads directly to La Liga.
Almeria spent the last two seasons in La Liga but were one of the worst teams in the Spanish top-flight division. Last year, they were relegated and haven't had the best start this year. But like Elche, they are improving as the season progresses and only look better. Right now, they are in disappointing 13th place with just 16 points. However, they are still just five points away from the playoffs and have played one game fewer than 6th-placed Elche.
Elche vs Almeria pick: Elche to win
Elche are in good form. They are undefeated in the last six games and have won the last three as well. For us, they were particularly impressive defensively, as they allowed only one goal during that six-game stretch.
Almeria are also in good form, no doubt about it. They are undefeated in the last four and have won three of those matches. However, we believe they are pretty vulnerable defensively and will have a difficult task to do away from home against Elche. Despite being undefeated, they allowed at least a goal in that four-game period.
Both teams are in good form. This one should be a super-close game, but we believe that Elche showed a bit more this season, and combined with a home pitch advantage, we expect the hosts to win all three points.

Elche team news
After a 2:0 over Eibar, coach Eder Sarabia spoke to the media. He spoke very little about the game itself and mainly criticized Spanish politicians, saying that the entire matchday should have been suspended due to floods.
The team should have no new injuries, but Carlos Clerc, Bambo Diaby, Josan, and Oscar Plano, who missed the previous games due to injuries, should remain sidelined.

Almería team news
Unlike Elche, Almeria did not play their game over the weekend and had their game against Cordoba postponed due to red alert for heavy rains.
According to the club website, coach Rubi should have almost the entire squad available. Only Lucas Robertson should remain sidelined, as he underwent surgery about a month ago on his left shoulder.
