Since suffering relegation from Spanish top-flight division in the 2020/21 season, Eibar were among the best teams in La Liga 2 in the following three seasons, finishing in third and fifth place. Unfortunately, they failed to secure promotion and this season, the Basque team are not on the desired level. It even looked like they would get involved in the relegation battle.
