Mohammed Salah and Co will be looking to continue their impressive form in qualifying for the 2026 FIFI World Cup when they play host to Sierra Leone on Tuesday night.

Egypt started the competition in fine form, winning their first three games with two clean sheets, and have continued that form. The Pharaohs are unbeaten in five games in Group A and have scored the most goals (13).  Their last outing took them to Ethiopia, where they ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Salah and Sayed.

Sierra Leone, meanwhile, sit just four points behind Egypt in Group A after five games. The Walias hosted Guinea-Bissau in midweek as they looked to end a run of two consecutive AFCON qualifiers without a win. Mohamed Kallon's side returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory and will be looking to build on that performance against Egypt on Tuesday.

Egypt vs Sierra Leone Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

With only one place separating the two nations in Group A, Tuesday's game is expected to be close and I don't expect more than two goals.

The win over Ethiopia last time out was the first time in four games that the Pharaohs had scored more than one goal, and were also solid defensively, conceding under one goal in as many matches. The same number of games ended with less than 2.5 goals scored.

Sierra Leone are also struggling for goals at the moment, having scored less than a goal in all but one of their last five outings.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
  • Egypt vs Sierra Leone prediction: 1-1

Egypt team news

With his goal and assist last time out, Mohamed Salah has now made nine goal contributions in 2026 World Cup Qualifying and the Liverpool forward is expected to keep his place upfront.

Salah could be joined in a front three by Omar Marmoush and Osama Faisal, while Ahmed Sayed will be the man to watch in the engine room.

Sierra Leone team news

Given the result and the scoreline of their last outing against Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone coach Mohamed Kallon will resist the temptation to make any changes to his side.

Musa Noah Kamara and Mustapha Bundu will both be back in the final third after scoring on Thursday, while Alhassan Koroma will be the man to watch in the engine room.

Three reasons we expect under 2.5 goals in this game

  1. Under two goals were seen in two of the last three meetings between these two nations.
  2. Four of the last five games of Egypt ended with under 2.5 goals.
  3. Just one of the last four games of Sierra Leone produced more than two goals.
