Dundee will be looking to go beyond the fourth round of the Scottish Cup for the first time since 2022 when they play host to Dundee United on Monday night.

The hosts have been unlucky in this competition over the last two seasons. Tony Docherty's men were knocked out in the fourth round by St Mirren in 2023, and last year they were knocked out at the same stage by Kilmarnock. But having avoided defeat in each of their last three games, including a 3-3 draw with leaders Celtic last weekend, the Dark Blues will be fancying their chances of ending their Scottish Cup poor run on Monday.

Dundee United meanwhile are in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup for the first time since 2023. The visitors prepare for Monday’s trip to Dens Park on the back of a narrow 1-0 win over St Mirren. It was Jim Goodwin's side first win in three games, and they kept a clean sheet for the first time since December 29th.

Monday’s game will be the first Scottish Cup meeting between these two sides since 2013. The previous meeting ended in a goalless draw, and I am expecting a similar outcome on Monday.

The visitors just can’t score goals at the moment. Jim Goodwin’s side boast just one goal from their last three matches and scored more than once in just two of the last seven. None of those games produced more than three goals.
