After two seasons where they were super close to winning the title, Borussia Dortmund had a poor previous season, finishing 5th. Still, to be fair, they had a good run in the Champions League, reaching the Finals. This season, the Prussians are again doing well in the CL but again struggling in the Bundesliga, at least by their standards. Right now, they are in 6th place with 25 points - 11 points away from the top spot, and the title dreams are probably over. Still, they are only two points away from the 4th place, which leads to the Champions League, which has to be their goal.
Bayer Leverkusen came to this season after a fantastic one where they won both the Cup and Bundesliga titles and reached the Europa League Finals. This season, the Black and Reds have some bumps along the road, but as the season progresses, they only look better. Right now, they are on a nine-game winning streak in all competitions while beating teams like Inter, Bayern Munich, Salzburg, etc... In the Bundesliga, they are now 2nd with just four points behind Bayern Munich, but with a lot better momentum.
Borussia Dortmund vs Bayer Leverkusen pick: Over 2.5 goals
Lately, Borussia Dortmund have played mostly high-scoring games, going over 2.5 goals line in two out of the last three matches. Also, at home, they were very good, losing just once in 11 games with 30 scored goals - 2.7 per game. So, it is fair to expect they will do fine offensively in this game as well.
Bayer Leverkusen are in excellent form, winning nine straight. They have been efficient and have scored two or more goals in seven of those nine games. Also, Bayer Leverkusen are among the best teams in the league for this type of bet, with 79% of their Bundesliga games finishing with three or more goals.
Considering all the above, we expect a high-scoring game, most likely with both teams scoring.

Bayer Leverkusen team news
On 2nd January, the club signed striker Alejo Sarco from Velez Sarsfield on a free transfer. Still, the 19-year-old Argentinian will only be a backup option and we do not expect him to get much playing time, at least for now.
The team should have no new injuries, but Amine Adli, Victor Boniface, and Jonas Hofmann, who missed the previous games, should remain sidelined.
