Returning to action following a two-week hiatus, Alaves come into Friday's contest looking to avoid a fourth successive La Liga matchup. Prior to the recent international break, Luis García´s side slipped to defeats against Real Madrid (3:2), 

While the hosts have now lost four of their last five matches, three of those defeats did come in away fixtures. At home, Alaves have a much better record, with five victories picked up from their last eight La Liga games at Estadio de Mendizorroza.

El Glorioso also boast a strong recent record in matches against Valladolid, with victories picked up in four of their last five meetings.

Valladolid come into Friday's contest having failed to win any of their last eight La Liga matches since a 1:0 win against Espanyol on the opening day of the season. 

Nine games into the campaign, Paulo Pezzolano´s men find themselves in the relegation zone with just five points collected. 

On the road, el Blanquivioletas have lost all four away La Liga games since their return to the top flight. Going back to October 2022, Valladolid fell to defeat in 15 of 19 away fixtures.

With Alaves stronger in home matches, and Valladolid struggling to find much form in recent fixtures, I fancy the hosts to get back to winning form on Friday.

A home win is my top choice at the Estadio de Mendizorroza.
